FRESHMAN (2012): Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three years in football and basketball, and four years in baseball... played football for coach Jeremy Warren... threw for 1,959 yards and 15 TDs in his career, while recording 520 rushing yards and seven touchdowns... was leading the conference in passing touchdowns and second in passing yards during his senior year before suffering a season-ending injury... Illinois State Scholar... National Honor Society member... NIC-10 Scholar Athlete.

PERSONAL: Born April 4, 1994... son of Dave and Deena Lantz... comes from an athletic family: his sister Jessie played volleyball for the Leathernecks in 2010, and another sister Alyssa played volleyball for three years at North Central College, his father played football at Illinois and his grandmother Linda Lantz played tennis from 1957-59 for the Illini... No. 1 sports highlight was doing his first radio interview after beating Belvidere North during their Homecoming game... his dad has been a major influence, "His love of football has rubbed off on me and made me love the game just as much."... enjoys football, basketball, baseball, curling, swimming, volleyball and church work camps.
