Huston Earns OVC Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week Honors

MACOMB, IL - After a record-setting performance at the Musco Twilight, Western Illinois Women's Track and Field athlete Maleigha Huston has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Female Track Athlete of the Week.

Huston earned the honor after winning the 800-meter run at the Musco Twilight with a personal-best time of 2:08.26. Her mark now ranks second in Western Illinois program history and currently leads the OVC this season.

"We've been on a driven mission for the time Maleigha just ran, and I believe there is still more improvement to be had," said head coach Matt Rosado. "With conference around the corner, the best is yet to come."

Huston and the Leathernecks will return to action this weekend at the NIU Huskie Classic as they continue preparations for the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.
