MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois softball fell 12–0 to SIUE on Friday afternoon at Cougar Field in Edwardsville.
The Cougars took control early, scoring seven runs in the first inning before adding five more in the third to put the game out of reach. SIUE finished with 12 hits in the run-rule shortened contest.
Western Illinois was held to three hits on the day, with Maria Luna and Alijah Williams accounting for the Leathernecks offense.
The Leathernecks will look to bounce back tomorrow in the final doubleheader of the regular season.
