MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois Athletics is giving fans a closer look at its student-athletes with the Why Western Podcast, a bi-weekly series now streaming on YouTube through the Western Illinois Leatherneck Athletics channel.

The podcast is already underway and features conversations with current Leatherneck student-athletes, focused on their path to Western, their experiences on campus, and what being part of the program means to them.

Early episodes include Mia Nicastro, Nour Gueblaoui and Christian Anaya, with many more student-athletes set to be featured in the coming weeks. Each episode brings a different story and perspective from across Western's programs.

Each episode gives fans a chance to hear directly from the student-athletes themselves — how they got here, what their experience has been like, and what makes Western feel like home.

New episodes of the Why Western Podcast are released every other week on YouTube, with additional content shared across Western Illinois Athletics' social media platforms.
