MACOMB, IL. - Western Illinois University is set to host its annual Western Challenge day of giving on Friday, April 24, 2026. The date coincides with Founders Day, also known as Purple and Gold Day, commemorating the university's founding on April 24, 1899. WIU alumni and supporters will have the opportunity to contribute to their favorite campus initiatives.
During the Western Challenge, WIU Athletics is calling on alumni, fans and friends to come together and make a difference. Contributions made during the Western Challenge will count toward Leatherneck Club memberships for the 2026–27 academic year. Funds raised will directly benefit nearly 400 Leatherneck student-athletes.
