MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois hosts Lindenwood in the final home series for the Leathernecks. The Leathernecks (12-27, 7-13 OVC) are coming off of a loss in an out of conference matchup against Bradley. Lindenwood (23-21, 12-9 OVC) is coming off of an out of conference loss as well falling on the road at St. Louis.

The last time these two faced off was last year that saw the Lions take the series 2-1 with Western winning the 2nd game of the series 8-3. Western Illinois currently sits at 8th in the OVC while Lindenwood is in 4th place in the OVC. The Leathernecks are 5-5 at home this year.

The Leathernecks were led by Ruby Tarr and Payton Brown in its matchup against Bradley that saw the Leathernecks fall 6-5. They were both 2-3 at the plate with Tarr scoring 2 runs. Libby Spaulding also performed well on the mound giving up only 1 earned run through 6 innings.

Lindenwood was defeated by St. Louis 7-6. They were led at the plate by Kate Proffitt who tallied 3 hits on the day in 4 at bats. Lindenwood had a late rally in the 7th that saw them push within 1 but was unable to overcome the early deficit.

Lindenwood is led in RBIs and hits by sophomore Anna Sanders who is batting .387 on the season to go along with her 55 hits. Senior Tori Hatton leads the Lions in RBIs this season with 40.
