MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois softball fell to Tennessee State, 20-9, in Monday's series finale in Nashville.
The Leathernecks (12-26, 7-12 OVC) jumped out early on an RBI bunt single from Payton Brown, then tied the game at 4-4 in the second behind a two-run single from Brown and an RBI single from Addie McLaughlin. Tennessee State responded with a 14-run second inning to take control.
Brown led the offense with five RBIs, while McLaughlin reached base four times and scored three runs. Ruby Tarr added two hits.
The Leathernecks will look to bounce back with a quick turnaround as they return to Macomb to take on Bradley tomorrow.
