MACOMB, Ill.- Western Illinois University is proud to announce the signing of Mylee Stiefel, a shooting guard from Burlington, Iowa, to the Leathernecks women's basketball program.
Stiefel, who stands 5'7", comes to WIU after an incredible high school career at Burlington Community High School, where she left a mark on the program. A strong scorer and floor leader, she finishes her high school career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,579 points and holds records for career three-pointers (274), single-game scoring (43 points), single-game threes (9), and most points in a half (32).
During her senior season, Stiefel averaged 24.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. Her honors include 4A IGCA 2nd Team All-State, SEC 1st Team All-Conference, All-Region Team recognition, and The Hawkeye Player of the Year. Over her high school career, she consistently demonstrated excellence on the court, earning conference and district honors each year while maintaining strong academic performance, including all-conference academic recognition and four years on the honor roll.
In addition to her high school success, Stiefel competed with Team Iowa and was recognized individually as a 2026 Division Standout, Elite 40. She also showcased her talent in prestigious all-star games, including the Pizza Ranch All-Star Game and the Larry Niemeyer IGCA All-Star Game.
