MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois is back on the road this weekend heading to Nashville to Tiger Field to take on Tennessee State in an important 3 game series.

The Leathernecks (10-25, 5-12 OVC) are looking to bounce back after dropping its last series on the road at UT Martin. Tennessee State (1-29, 1-17 OVC) is coming off of a series defeat at Morehead State.

The last time these two faced off in a series was last year that saw the Tigers take the series 2-1. Tennessee State won both games of the doubleheader before Western took the final game of the series 15-7.

Western Illinois currently sits at 8th in the OVC while Tennessee State is in last place. The Leathernecks are currently above 9th place Morehead State with the Eagles being 5-13 in conference play.

On the pitching side Junior Lillie Wools had a productive weekend on the mound for the Leathernecks last weekend. She posted a 0.62 ERA through 11.1 innings pitched against UT Martin while adding 6 strikeouts.

Tennessee State looks to bounce back after falling to Morehead State in this past weekend's series. The Tigers did pick up their first conference win defeating Morehead State 7-3 in the 2nd game of their doubleheader on Saturday.

Tennessee State is led in hits by Junior Jace Jackson who is batting .387 this year. Senior Jasmine Blackburn leads them in RBIs this year totaling 16 on the year. Blackburn also leads the teams in home runs with 2.
