Leathernecks Open Conference Play at SEMO  

The Leathernecks open conference play taking on SEMO in a 3 game series. The Leathernecks enter conference play with an overall record of 5-11 while SEMO enters the contest at 4-13. Leading the Redhawks is Madison Winkler, who is hitting .415 across 17 starts. Winkler has collected 22 hits in 53 at-bats while posting a .566 slugging percentage and a 1.022 OPS. She also leads the team with nine RBIs and has added a triple and two home runs.

Lindenwood Invite Recap  

The Western Illinois softball team closed out a two-game stretch against Indiana State and Valparaiso, falling 10–0 to Indiana State before dropping a 4–3 contest to Valparaiso. The Leathernecks were limited to just one hit in the matchup with Indiana State.

Against Valparaiso, Western Illinois responded with a competitive effort and pushed late in the game but ultimately fell short of completing the comeback. Libby Spaulding went the distance, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three across seven innings.

Last Year's Series

The Leathernecks are looking to avenge their series defeat last season when they were swept by SEMO at home. This matchup with SEMO provides an opportunity to make an early statement and start OVC play on a strong note.
