Leathernecks Compete in Bellarmine Round Robin  

Western Illinois hits the road this weekend for the Bellarmine Round Robin, a two-day slate that will test the Leathernecks' depth and consistency. WIU will face both Bellarmine and Northern Kentucky twice, playing each opponent once on Friday and once again on Saturday. With the condensed schedule, the Leathernecks will be forced to lean heavily on their depth across the roster. 

Alabama A&M Series Recap 

Western Illinois is coming off an explosive two-game series in which the Leathernecks totaled 31 runs and 29 hits while splitting the matchup 1-1. WIU dropped a narrow 11-10 decision in the opener despite putting up double-digit runs, before bouncing back in dominant fashion with a 21-5 victory in game two. The offensive surge showcased the lineup's ability to respond quickly, turning a tough loss into a statement win and carrying momentum into the upcoming weekend.

Payton Brown's Record Day

Payton Brown delivered a record setting performance in Western Illinois' matchup against Alabama A&M, launching three home runs and driving in seven RBI in a historic showing at the plate. The returning Co OVC Player of the Year displayed exactly why she remains one of the conference's premier talents, taking over the game with her power and production. Her seven RBI moved her into a tie for first place in program history for RBI in a single game, while her three home runs tied her own school record that she originally set last season against Tennessee State University. Brown's dominant outing not only added another chapter to the record book but reinforced her status as one of the most dangerous hitters in the conference.
