MACOMB Ill.- Western Illinois University Women's Basketball has earned the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Team Academic Achievement Award, recognized as the top academic program in its sport for the 2024–25 academic year. The Leathernecks led all OVC women's basketball teams with a collective GPA of 3.83, showcasing their commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the court.
The award caps a series of OVC academic honors for the 2024–25 academic year. It was previously announced that a record 1,792 OVC student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll (for earning a 3.25 GPA or higher), while 354 achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs to receive the OVC Academic Medal of Honor—the second-highest total in league history.
