MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois football coach Joe Davis announced a handful of updates and a new addition to his coaching staff.
"We're excited to add Coach Washington to our staff. He has had a lot of success in a short amount of time and comes highly recommended form some of the best coaches in FBS football." Said Coach Davis. "Coach Wilson did an outstanding job leading our offense last fall and has earned the opportunity to take on Assistant Head Coach responsibilities."
Davis announces the addition of Isaiah Washinton as the new Wide Receivers Coach. A former player, Washington was a standout wide receiver himself, playing at the University of Central Oklahoma and Booker T. His time at Booker T. saw Washington lead the Hornets to the 2011 State Championship. Washington began his coaching career at Union High School where he coached five wide receivers who went on to play Division I football. After coaching HS, Washington was part of the Texas A&M and New Mexico State Aggies as a graduate assistant coach.
Coach Brad Wilson has been promoted to a higher role on the Leatherneck staff. After spending the 2024 season as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach Wilson will move into the Assistant Head Coach role for the 2025 season. In his new position Wilson will still take charge of an improved Leatherneck offense.
Also receiving a promotion is Zach Trevino. Trevino was promoted from Offensive Quality Control to Offensive Graduate Assistant. Trevino has been on staff since 2024, working with the quarterbacks and as a part of the offensive quality control staff. Before coming to Western Illinois, Trevino played at Clarke University as quarterback.
