Western Illinois Women’s Bowling Continues Fall Season at Warhawk Classic

LAST TIME OUT | Western Illinois women's bowling delivered a solid showing Sunday at the Central Missouri dual meet. Leading the way for the Leathernecks was Angela Steinke, who posted games of 168, 181, and 212 for a 561 series and a 187 average. Jaydyn Hunting followed closely behind with a 553 series (213, 189, 151) and an 184 average, while Heather Walker added a strong 535 series highlighted by a 232 in her second game. Cassidy Williams also contributed with a 512 total and a 170 average. Rounding out the lineup, Melina Eresbey tallied a 400 series, and the duo of Skylar Huber and Maleena Moreno combined for 545 pins in doubles play.

ABOUT THE LEATHERNECKS | Western Illinois University bowling is set to begin the 2025 season with eight new additions to the roster. The Leathernecks welcome a mix of experience and fresh talent to the program this year. Joining the team are senior Melina Eresby of Villahermosa, Mexico; freshman Skylar Houseman of Moline, Illinois; sophomore Skylar Huber of Bradshaw, Nebraska; freshman Jaydyn Hunting of Lexington, Kentucky; and freshman Maleena Moreno of San Antonio, Texas. Also joining the squad are freshman Angela Steinke of Rothschild, Wisconsin, sophomore Heather Walker of Mentor, Ohio, and graduate student Cassidy Williams of New Ulm, Minnesota. The program will be led by head coach Derek Sapp, a Western Illinois alumnus who competed on the Leatherneck men's bowling team. Sapp brings valuable experience to the role, most recently serving as the head bowling coach at Culver-Stockton College.
