MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois women's soccer fell 3–0 at Little Rock on Thursday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference play.
All three of Little Rock's goals came in the first half, with the Trojans scoring in the 13th, 14th and 31st minutes. The Leathernecks settled in defensively after the break, holding Little Rock scoreless over the final 45 minutes.
Goalkeepers Ariel Bernard and Lillian Johns combined for 10 saves, with Bernard recording five in the first half and Johns adding five more in relief. Western Illinois limited the Trojans to nine second-half shots after facing 14 before the break.
Offensively, Hana Daoudi tallied the team's lone shot on goal, while Hilary Halpin and Elise Grant also registered attempts. Kayla Turner picked up the Leathernecks' only yellow card in the 18th minute.
The loss moves Western Illinois to 1–16–0 overall and 0–7–0 in OVC play. The Leathernecks return to action Sunday against UT Martin.
