MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois University women's tennis program announced its 2024-25 season schedule on Friday, featuring several high-level matches.

The Leathernecks will play a trio of events during the fall, before taking time off and beginning the winter-spring season in January.

Western Illinois opens the season September 6-7 heading to Ohio Valley Conference rival SIUE to play in the SIUE Invite. The Leathernecks get another look at OVC foes two weeks later, playing in the Ohio Valley Conference Individual Meet September 21-22 in Evansville, Indiana. The Leathernecks close out the fall portion of the schedule on October 6, hosting Quincy.

The Leathernecks begin the winter/spring portion of the season on the road, playing at Indiana University at Indianapolis on January 25, then at Illinois State the following day.

Western Illinois then hosts a pair of 'home,' meets, taking on Bradley (Feb. 1) and Northern Iowa (Feb. 7) in Galesburg. The Leathernecks face a short turnaround after the UNI match, facing Northern Illinois in DeKalb on February 8. WIU returns home for a single match, hosting Creighton in Galesburg on February 15.

After the Creighton matchup, the Leathernecks play their next several matches on the road starting with a trip to the Show Me State, taking on St. Louis (Feb. 21) and Missouri (Feb. 22). Western Illinois follows that with a trip north to Wisconsin, playing Milwaukee (March 1) and Marquette (March 2).

After the trips to Missouri and Wisconsin, the Leathernecks make their longest road trek of the season, going to Hilton Head, South Carolina over Spring Break to play in the PTR Spring Tennis Fest March 8-14.

On their way back from South Carolina, WIU begins OVC play, taking on Southern Indiana on March 15. After that, Western Illinois takes a week off before visiting SEMO on March 22.

The Leathernecks finally play matches in Macomb, hosting a three-match homestand over the next two weeks. WIU hosts Kansas City (March 28), SIUE (March 29), and Eastern Illinois (April 5) before ending the regular season at Lindenwood (April 6) and closing out the home portion of the schedule against Tennessee State (April 12).

The postseason follows the next weekend with the OVC Meet in St. Louis April 18-20.
