MACOMB, Ill - The Western Illinois Track & Field team added five recruits to their 2025 Class on National Signing Day. They bring in four distance runners and one relay runner.
The relay runner is 5'6 Ellie Eastman from Columbia, Missouri where she attended David Hickman High School. Eastman was a four-time Nicole Mello Award winner (top performer) and was a four-time All-District and All-Conference selection in high school. She qualified for State as an individual every year she was in high school.
Among the four distance runners, Terryan and Gloria Jemeli come from Elderet, Kenya. Both of them have had fast times in the 3K and 5K races. Terryan ran the 3K in 9:34 while running the 5K in 16:31 while Gloria ran 9:45 in the 3K and 16:50 in the 5K. Both runners bring speed to the team.
The third distance runner is 5'8 Savannah Schaad from Tell City, Indiana. Schaad was a three-time Most Valuable Distance Runner in high school while also winning Most Valuable Runner in Cross Country her Freshman year. Savannah also was a four-time regional qualifier for cross country in high school as well as being Conference MVP her Junior year of track.
The last distance runner is Cassandra Brushaber from Minooka, Illinois. Cassandra was a four-time Varsity Award winner as well as a four-time State Series qualifier. She placed top 7 in the State her Sophomore and Junior year of high school. Brushaber also helped her team to win four straight regional titles, three sectional titles, and two top four finishes at State in Cross Country.
