Leathernecks Fall to Bradley

Western lost 0-4 on Friday night in a matchup with the Braves

MACOMB -- Western took a tough loss when the Bradley Braves traveled to Macomb on Friday night. The Braves were in complete control the whole match, winning 4-0. The Braves continue their undefeated season and improve to 4-0-1 on the season.

Bradley started off the match with a pair of corners, but couldn't score in the opening minutes. After a tough collision in the 19th minute that saw players from both sides receive yellow cards and Leatherneck forward Liam Gainey go off with injury, Bradley would score the first goal of the match just two minutes later. Gainey would not return.

Bradley tacked on a second goal in the 28th minute, but they would not take their foot off the gas in the first half, as they tried 3 more corners in the half before the break.

In the second half, centre-back Tajh Hylton received a yellow for a tough collison that would see him exit the game with injury as well. The Braves would add a third goal in the 60th minute. After a few more corners and attempts, Bradley got their fourth goal in the 72nd minute, sealing the match. Defender Kyle Owen would attempt the only Leathernecks' shot on target in the 83rd minute.

The Leathernecks fall to 0-4-1 on the season with the loss. Western will travel to SIUE on Tuesday, Sept. 12 before hosting Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 16
