WIU names Rogers Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

| By:
Western Illinois University announced the addition of Kristen Rogers to the athletics staff, naming her Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

Rogers joins the Leathernecks after serving in the same role at Northern Michigan University since July 2022. While at Northern Michigan, Rogers oversaw compliance for Division I Men's Ice Hockey and 16 Division II sports, led a department wide online transition to ARMS compliance software, redesigned the student athlete handbook, and served on the Athletics Council, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council, President's Council for Compliance and as a co-advisor of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She also served as member on the NCAA Division II Coaching Enhancement Grant Selection Committee.

"I'd like to thank Paul Bubb and Sarah Pruess for this amazing opportunity," Rogers said. "I am excited about the direction of Western Athletics and look forward to enhancing the student-athlete experience under their guidance and mentorship. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the Western Family and connect with the administrative staff, coaches, student-athletes and the Macomb community."

Prior to working at Northern Michigan, Rogers coached women's basketball for 16 years.

Along with the coaching positions Rogers has held in her career, she has also been responsible for compliance and administration duties including academic advising, mentoring student-athletes, teaching courses, leading department-wide tutoring sessions and academic success meetings, conducting transcript evaluations, and monitoring the eligibility of student-athletes.
Rogers is no stranger to those on staff at Western Illinois, having worked alongside current Leatherneck Deputy Director of Athletics and Senior Women Administrator, Sarah Pruess at Wayne State.

"I am excited to work with Kristen Rogers again," Pruess said. "Her experiences at multiple institutions is a welcome addition to our student services operations. I have every confidence that Kristen will strengthen our compliance operations and provide guidance into the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics."
