Tennis drops contest to Bradley

Leathernecks next in action on Wednesday

GALESBURG – The Western Illinois women's tennis team dropped a dual match on Saturday, falling to Bradley in Galesburg, 7-0.
 
The Leathernecks were swept in doubles play as the teams of Maria Rybka and Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza fell 7-5, the duo of Paige Grice and Lorena Castellanos fell 6-3 and the pair of Lucky Kancherla and Aina Cortina-Pou lost 7-5.
 
In singles play, Bradley kept it going, taking all six matches.
 
Grice would fall 6-1, 6-4, Rossetto Diniz de Souza lost 6-4, 6-0, Castellanos dropped her match 6-1, 6-0, Cortina-Pou lost 6-0, 6-4, Agatha Carbonell lost 6-1, 6-1 and Ryka dropped a match 6-1, 6-1.
 
Western Illinois is next in action on Wednesday, taking on Illinois State at Illinois State at noon. The Leathernecks follow that match with trips to St. Louis on Friday and Lindenwood on Saturday.
