Western Illinois falls in Summit opener

Leathernecks face Quincy on Tuesday

Box Score TULSA, OK -- The Western Illinois women's tennis team dropped the Summit League opener on Saturday, falling to Oral Roberts 7-0 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Leathernecks return home after a long trip before playing on the road Tuesday at Quincy. Western Illinois is scheduled to be back in action in Macomb next Saturday, hosting Denver.

The Leathernecks dropped the doubles point, losing two of the three matches, with the third not finishing. In the singles portion, Oral Roberts swept past Western Illinois.

Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza nearly pulled off a win, falling in a third set tiebreaker. Paige Grice, Lorena Castellanos, Aina Cortina-Pou, Agatha Carbonell and Lucky Kancherla each fell in straight sets.
