33rd Annual Purple & Gold Auction – August 13

Season kickoff event returning to Western Hall

Western Illinois University Athletics will host its largest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, August 13, inside Western Hall. The 33rd Annual Purple & Gold Auction will feature a social, silent auction, two cash raffles, dinner, a short program and a live auction benefiting our nearly 400 Leatherneck student-athletes. New this year, an online auction will precede the in-person event.
 
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a social, silent auction, and two cash raffles worth $500 each. Attendees will notice several upgrades to this year's auction including a new event layout and food stations instead of a formal dinner. Food stations will open at 5:30 p.m. and include strawberry spinach salad, Italian pasta salad, cranberry quinoa salad, house salad, Italian roast beef au-jus, bone-in chicken wings, BBQ pork sliders, egg rolls, spring rolls, creamy coleslaw, a bread station, potato bar, veggie station, molton cake, bread pudding bites, xango cheesecake and assorted dessert bars. The silent auction will close at 6:45 p.m. At that time, guests will hear from two outstanding student-athletes as well as new Director of Athletics Paul A. Bubb. Lowderman Auction Company will begin the live auction at 7:15 p.m.

The cost is $45 for an individual and $360 for a table of eight. New this year, seating will be on a first come first serve basis unless a reserved table of eight is purchased at once in advance. A limited number of reserved tables are available. Registration is available online here. Those wishing to register by phone may call (309) 298-1190.

Beginning Wednesday, August 3, the online auction will be available on the Purple & Gold Auction website. Items will be available for two days before ending, and new items will be uploaded daily. All items will open at 8 a.m. CST and close at 8 p.m. CST on their respective days. The online auction will end on Friday, August 12. Those wishing to participate in the online portion of Purple & Gold do not need to register for the in-person event. Just click the "My Account" tab and create a new user.
