Scouting the Leathernecks: Ami Ill has been hot at the plate, currently on a six-game hitting streak while going 8-18. Ill leads WIU, hitting .293 this season and with 17 hits. Georgia Rea leads Western with eight runs batted in and four home runs. Rea has two HRs and four RBI in the last four Leatherneck games. Abby Carlin leads Western in the circle with a 1.98 ERA and 5-2 strikeouts. She is 4-4 this season.

About the Billkens: St. Louis is 6-13 overall this season…SLU is led by Abbie Kowalik, who is hitting .410 this season with 25 hits and 12 RBI…Kristi Stevenson is batting .333 with 20 hits…Chloe Wendling is 5-5 with a 3.20 ERA and 43 strikeouts.

What's next: After the three-game set, Western Illinois has a few days off before hitting the road once again to take on Missouri on Wednesday. The Leathernecks are finally at home next weekend, opening Summit League play with a Saturday doubleheader against St. Thomas, followed by a Sunday game against the Tommies.
