Surprenant Resigns as Director of Athletics

Western Illinois Director of Athletics steps down

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Danielle Surprenant has resigned from the position, effective Friday, March 18.

Surprenant was named director June 1, 2019. Prior to that date, she served as the interim director, and as the senior associate athletic director for internal operations and senior woman administrator from 2017-2018.


"We thank Danielle for her service to the University and for her leadership in Leatherneck Athletics," said WIU President Guiyou Huang. "We wish her well in her future endeavors."

Surprenant will continue on in the position under a contractual agreement until a replacement is found.
