After a single and double put runners on second in third in the bottom of the third, Little Rock used another sacrifice fly to bring in their third run. Another double and single later in the inning scored two more for the Trojans to take a 5-0 lead.

Little Rock added one run in the fourth with a groundout to shortstop to gain a six-run advantage. Little Rock began the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run to right to make the score 7-0. Little Rock brought in another run with two outs later in the fifth with a single to center to build an eight-run cushion.
