MACOMB, Ill. - Meeting at John MacKenzie Alumni Field one last time, the Western Illinois men's soccer team left everything on the pitch in its home finale. But, unfortunately, the final score favored Kansas City, 2-1, Saturday (April 3) afternoon.
In the 28th minute, Damian Rincon sent the perfect ball in the box for Cameron Territo to connect with a header. The partnership marked the first collegiate points for the former and the first goal for the latter. Western trailed 2-1 at that point and battled for four additional shots in the second half, but none were on frame.
Receiving the starting nod in the net, the third of his freshman career, Alex Flowers finished the match with a pair of saves.
The Leathernecks conclude their spring season at Eastern Illinois Saturday at 1 p.m.
