Kickoff | After a non-league game last weekend, the Western Illinois men's soccer team host Kansas City for the final home games of the season.

COVID-19 Protocols | After thorough discussion and consultation with university leaders, Western Illinois Athletics decided to decrease seating at all outdoor events this spring; the change limits entry to family members of student-athletes and staff.  Student-athletes will be permitted to have only their families in attendance, admitted via the player pass list.

Down goes No. 18 | The Leathernecks swept the series against No. 18 Oral Roberts and recorded back-to-back clean sheets against the Golden Eagles. The wins also marked the first time in program history that Western has two wins versus ranked opponents in the same season.

Debuts | Six student-athletes have made their debuts for WIU this season - Wail Alghaim, Kory Soulinthavong, Muazu Sagir, Mekhi Royes, Devan DiGrado, and Alex Flowers.

Main Man | Seanan Main currently sits third in the Summit in saves (35) and second for saves per game (5.00). The 35 stops place him 16th in the nation and the 5.00 mark sit at 9th overall.

He also has been named The Summit League Defensive Player of the Week twice this year.

Scouting the Roos | After seven years in the Western Athletic Conference,  Kansas City makes its return to The Summit League, of which it was a member from 1994-2013… the Roos are 3-3-1 in league play with a sweep of Omaha and a win vs. Eastern… KC currently sits in third-place with 10 points.

Preseason Recognition | Midfielders Cesar Cosio and Paul Kirdorf were named 2021 Summit League Preseason Players to Watch. Kirdrof earned the recognition in back-to-back seasons, while Cosio collected it for the first time in his career.

Up Next | WIU wraps up the season at Eastern Illinois on Saturday (April 10) at 1 p.m.
