Matchup history: Western Illinois and Denver have played nine times in program history, with the most recent matchup being on Feb. 4, 2021, in Macomb.

Players to watch: In her fifth season with the program, Jenna Lundgren has continued to be a key part of the team's midfield. The Elmhurst, Ill., native has played 961 minutes across 11 appearances (ten starts) this season. She's third on the team in goals scored with three and recorded an assist in the team's 4-1 victory against IUPUI on Sept. 12.

Zoe Clarke has been a regular contributor for the team this season and is top-10 among Leathernecks in minutes played. She's appeared in every game this season, making seven starts.

"Zoe is a natural playing as a wingback. She opens up the game really well, works extremely hard, and provides a great partnership playing beside Angie Knies," associate head coach Josee Primeau said. "We're excited to see what she has in store for the rest of this season."

So far this season: WIU women's soccer is currently in the midst of a strong stretch of performances, winning seven of their last nine - a stretch that included six-straight victories. After losing the first game of Summit League action to SDSU, they rebounded and defeated South Dakota 2-1 on Sunday (Oct. 3). Amy Andrews scored two goals and is now within striking distance of several program records.

The Leathernecks will host Omaha on Friday (Oct. 8) before their matchup with Denver.

Scouting the opponent: The Pioneers are currently 6-5 on the season and coming off a 2-0 win at Omaha. Sydney Sharp leads their attack with seven goals and Sami Feller has eight assists on the year. The Pioneers will face St. Thomas on Friday before traveling to Macomb.

What's next: After Sunday's game, Western women's soccer heads on the road for a matchup at St. Thomas. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn., next Sunday (Oct. 17).
