Matchup history: Western Illinois and Oral Roberts have played 24 games in program history, with the Leathernecks holding an 11-13-0 record against the Golden Eagles. The last time these two teams played was a back-to-back in Tulsa on March 19 and 21, 2021. Western went into Tulsa and won both games by a combined score of 3-1, with Amy Andrews scoring two goals and Zoe Clarke adding another.

Players to watch: Now in her fifth season as a Leatherneck, Lauryn Peters has been a force on the WIU back line this season. She currently leads the team in minutes played (1,371), tying for the team lead in both appearances and starts (15) while playing a big role in the team's four shutouts this season.

Playing alongside Peters on the backline is Angie Knies, who has also played and started in each of the team's 15 games this season. The sophomore from Ely, Iowa, has now played and started in 31 games as a Leatherneck.

"Lauryn and Angie play a lot of minutes for us, but they've earned that time on the field. They connect well with the midfield, can play balls over the top to our forwards, and work extremely hard every day in training," associate head coach Josee Primeau said. "Their continued focus on improving this season has been great to see and I look forward to watching them play throughout the rest of this season."

So far this season: WIU is currently 8-6-1 on the season and coming off a road win at Kansas City. Six different players have scored, while four different Leathernecks have provided at least two assists. They've more than doubled the scoring output when compared to last season, and the team's work on defense has resulted in four shutouts. In their first game of the weekend against UMKC, they won 1-0 and Jenna Lundgren scored her fourth goal on the season.

Scouting the opponent: The Golden Eagles are 5-9-2 on the year and coming off a 2-1 home victory against St. Thomas on Friday (Oct. 22).

What's next: After Sunday's game Western Illinois will head home for their final weekend of regular season play, starting their weekend with a matchup against North Dakota State on Friday (Oct. 29). Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
