Men's Soccer Draws in Overtime

The team has now gone unbeaten in two-straight games.

PEORIA, ILL. – The Western Illinois University Fighting Leatherneck men's soccer team was in action on Monday (Oct. 18), playing the Bradley Braves to a scoreless at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill. With the draw, Western has now gone unbeaten in their last two matches.
 
Six of the 17 Leathernecks to play in the match went a full 110 minutes, and Ronaldo Joseph played 20 minutes in his Western Illinois debut. As a team, Western had 12 shots (four on goal) and took four corner kicks, drawing the Brave offense into four offside calls. WIU also drew 18 fouls in the game.
 
Five different players finished with multiple shots, and Kyle Owen, Arian Mehrang, Luke Duball and Xavier Brown finished with shot on goal. Alex Flowers made five saves on 13 shots faced, and the trio of Jaylen Drummond, Damian Rincon and Benedikt Zechmeister all played at least 45 minutes off the bench.
 
Leatherneck men's soccer is on the road for their next match, facing Kansas City on Saturday (Oct. 23). Kickoff at Durwood Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
