WIU Men's Soccer Loses to Wisconsin

The team returns to Macomb for their next match against St. Thomas.

MADISON, WIS. - The Western Illinois University Fighting Leatherneck men's soccer team played on Tuesday (Oct. 12), falling 4-0 to the Wisconsin Badgers at the McClimon Track/Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis.

At half the score was 1-0, but Wisconsin came out firing in the second half and scored three goals in the game's final 29 minutes to secure a 4-0 victory. 

17 players featured for WIU, combining for three shots (two on goal) and forcing two saves from the Badger 'keeper. The defense drew Wisconsin attackers into six offside calls and drew 11 fouls, and Alex Flowers made six saves on 18 total shots faced. 

The Leathernecks are at home for their next game, a Summit League match against St. Thomas. Kickoff against the Tommies is scheduled for 1 p.m.
