Men's Golf Brings On In-State Talent

John Lishchynsky has signed with Western Illinois men's golf.

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois Director of Golf Lia Biehl Lukkarinen announced the signing of John Lishchynsky on Friday (May 29).
 
"I'm excited for John to join us on the team next fall," Biehl Lukkarinen said. "He has enjoyed tremendous success at the IHSA and regional levels. John strengths are his ball striking and demeanor on the course. These qualities will transfer well to Division I golf. I'll look forward to seeing his game grow during his time at Western Illinois."
 
Lishchynsky was the 2017 IJGA player of the year and the Northwest Herald Player of the Year. 2017 IHSA Regional Medalist. Also in 2017, Lishchynsky earned medalist honors at Regionals with a bogey free round of 70 (-1). He topped that round by turning in a 69 (-3) to win Sectionals securing his place as conference player of the year.
 
At Crystal Lake South, Lishchynsky led the Gators to back-to-back IHSA state tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019.
 
He will join the team for the 2020-21 campaign.
