The Last Outing | Western concluded its time in the Getterman Classic the same way it began. Four games in the tournament resulted in walk-offs, and the Leathernecks avenged an earlier loss to Grand Canyon with a 3-2 victory Sunday (February 16).

The Leathernecks kicked off their Texas travels with a 6-5 walk-off victory over Prairie View A&M before dropping three tightly contested matchups to GCU (4-2), Baylor (2-1), and PVAM (8-7).

  • Kellie Marcheschi went 5-for-14 (.357) at Baylor with a team-high six RBI
  • Alyssa Ealy recorded a team-high six hits with four runs
  • Abby Carlin pitched 22.1 innings for a 1.61 ERA (only four earned runs)

Those Leatherneck Pitchers | Western Illinois has the second-best ERA in the Summit League this season. The Leathernecks combine for a 3.60 ERA, helped by Abby Carlin's league-leading 1.25 ERA.

Carlin is 2-3 on the year in 39.1 total innings.

Looking Forward | Five games in the Saluki Invitational await Western next. Southern Illinois will play host to the Leathernecks, DePaul, Northern Illinois, and IUPUI.
