Strike Out Cancer with WIU Softball on April 27

The Leathernecks play host to Purdue Fort Wayne during games focused on generating awareness for Linda's Fund

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois University Softball looks to Strike Out Cancer for their last home series next week when it faces Purdue Fort Wayne in a doubleheader on April 27 at 12 p.m. Think Pink bubbles, pink wristbands and t-shirts will be for sale all weekend with proceeds going to Linda's Fund.

Linda's Fund provides support to McDonough District Hospital breast cancer patients and their families. Typically, this includes direct financial assistance to pay medical bills not covered by insurance, special adaptive clothing and personal care products for patients.

Fan are encouraged to sign up and participate in the Home Run Derby immediately following the doubleheader on Saturday (April 27). For a donation of $5, fans will face All-American Pitcher, WIU Hall of Famer and former head coach, Holly Van Vlymen.
