Tip-Off | The Western Illinois women's basketball gears up for two road tests in Illinois State and Chicago State.

Record-setting Elementary Day | An electrifying, record-setting crowd of 1,624 packed Western Hall Tuesday (Nov. 26) morning to cheer the Western Illinois women's basketball team on to a 90-69 victory over Missouri Baptist. Elementary Day welcomed kids of all ages – even the young at heart – and Western put on a show to lead the entire 40 minutes.

The team's previous attendance record (1,596) was set against South Dakota on Feb. 25, 2017. The Leathernecks also attempted a Guinness World Record Tuesday for the most individuals doing the floss dance at one time and will be awaiting confirmation.

Scouting Illinois State | The Redbirds are 5-1 and on a four-game win streak with a notable victory over Illinois (74-58). Undefeated at home (3-0), ISU is led by TeTe Maggett and Lexi Wallen, both averaging double-digits.

Scouting Chicago State | The Cougars are 0-8 this season and are returning to the Windy City after a trip to the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nev. CSU will play host to UIC on Wednesday (Dec. 4) before taking on the Leathernecks.

Last Time Out | The Leathernecks claimed two double-digit scorers at the break against Missouri Baptist, guided by Danni Nichols' perfect 6-for-6 effort from the field. She and Annabel Graettinger poured in 13 and 11 points, respectively, as Western held a 48-21 advantage at halftime.

Nichols later banked in the first points of the third frame en route to a season-high 21. The redshirt-sophomore missed just one shot from the field (a three-pointer at the 8:04 mark of the third quarter) and finished 9-for-10. She was joined in double figures by Grace Gilmore (13) and Graettinger (11) in the 90-69 win over the Spartans.

Kaufmann's Nomination | Olivia Kaufmann was tabbed to the All-Summit League Second Team before the 2019 campaign. The senior guard is entering her final season with the Leathernecks, after averaging 16 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists a year ago. She posted a season-high 28 points against North Dakota on February 1, 2019.

Senior Season | The WIU roster holds four seniors this season with Avery Hamm, Kyra Washington, Gratteinger and Kaufmann.

The New Faces in the Hall | The Purple and Gold welcomed three new players to the 2019-20 squad in freshmen Alissa Dins and Kennedy Flanagan along with Evan Zars, a transfer from Saint Louis.

Challenging Start | Western Illinois continued in the tradition of stacking a highly competitive slate to start the season, including Drake and Mizzou, who both made NCAA appearances in the 2018-19 season as well as Big Ten opponent Purdue.

Up Next | Western Illinois has a week off and then returns back to Western Hall to host Southeast Missouri Tuesday (Dec. 17), followed by the Compass Challenge at Northern Illinois starting on Thursday (Dec. 19).
