Williams Repeats as Google Cloud Academic Selection

Kyle Williams has been named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District in back-to-back seasons.

MACOMB, Ill. – Kyle Williams repeated as a member of the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Football Team Thursday (Nov. 14), where he joined 24 student-athletes from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio as District 5 selections. 

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot which will be announced in early December. The defensive lineman earned the same honor last year for his efforts in the classroom and on the field.

Williams, a junior from Lebanon, Ind., has started nine games this season at defensive end. He currently boasts a 3.84 grade point average and is pursuing a degree in medical sciences while minoring in chemistry. 

Williams has collected 29 tackles (13 solo), three sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown against Missouri State (Oct. 5).

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
