2016 'Day in the Life'
MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois volleyball team is preparing to take on Summit League foe Oral Roberts this Tuesday (Nov. 1). The match will take place inside Western Hall at 5 p.m. and will also be broadcast on ESPN3.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES: Oral Roberts is 13-12 on the season and sits sixth in the league standings with a 5-6 mark in conference play. The Golden Eagles recently came off a two-game skid with a 3-2 win at South Dakota State. Laura Milos leads the league with 478 kills, and her 5.56 kills per set also ranks first along with her .83 service aces per set. As a team, ORU is hitting .222 and is averaging 12.72 kills per set.
 
SERIES HISTORY: Oral Roberts leads the all-time series 34-5. On Oct. 7 of this season, Western dropped a 3-0 decision on the road to the Golden Eagles. As a program, the Leathernecks are looking for their first win over ORU since the 2007 season and have dropped 13 straight.
 
A LOOK AT THE LEATHERNECKS: With just four matches remaining, Western Illinois is 4-24 overall and sits at the bottom of the league standings with a 1-11 mark in league play. Senior Kaili Simmons is leading the league with 508 digs and her 5.08 digs/set ranks second. Shalyn Greenhaw leads the team with 254 kills, followed by Melanie Patenaude, who has 159. Lexi Kolschefski has 60 total blocks followed by Riley Schumacher, who has 52. As a team, Western Illinois leads the league with 1,621 digs (16.05/set).
