Merritt Cook,2002 - A member of the Leatherneck golf team from 1966 to 1968, Cook is one of only three Western Illinois Golfers to be named first team All-American. The two-time captain set course records at the Western Illinois Golf Course and the Macomb Country Club. His Western teams placed second, third, and ninth at the NAIA National Tournament.
