Bruce Craddock (deceased),1991 - Western's head football coach from 1983 to 1989, Bruce twice was selected as the Gateway Conference "Coach of the Year." The 1988 team finished with a perfect 6-0 league record, the most wins in WIU football history with 10 victories, and wound up with a number-two national ranking. The Missouri Valley Football Conference's 'Coach of the Year' award is named in his honor, as is the football team's annual spring game.
