Bison defeat Leathernecks, 4-0

FARGO, N.D. - The Fighting Leatherneck softball fell to North Dakota State, 4-0, on Saturday, May 15 at the Ellig Sports Complex.

Western (34-18) faces IPFW (29-18) in the elimination game tentatively scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. with the winner playing North Dakota State in the championship game at 2:30 p.m.

The Leathernecks only collected three hits in the loss to the Bison and left a total of five runners on base. The Bison picked up six hits, led by Melissa Chmielewski was was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Kamren Ferguson (21-11) took the loss in the circle, tossing three strikeouts and walking one.

North Dakota State's Whitney Johnson (25-16) threw seven strikeouts and walked three in the contest.
