GALESBURG, Ill. - The Western Illinois women's tennis team finished up their final home competition with a 4-1 win over Southern Illinois at Edwardsville, with help from Freshman Courtney Brooks who also went undefeated on the weekend.

The Westerwinds (10-7) defeated Southern Illinois at Edwardsville, 4-1, making them undefeated for on the weekend. Freshman Courtney Brooks went undefeated in this weekends competition won with a win at the No. 5 spot, 7-6(6), 6-3. She had previously defeated Chicago States Jennifer Morris 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles and South Dakota States Amy Albrecht 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles, in Friday's competition.

Sophomore Kim Lennartsson took the victory with a 6-4, 6-1, win at the No. 1 singles position. At the No. 3 singles slot, freshman Yana Meinert picked up a 7-6(5), 6-4, win. Taking the No. 4 slot in a tie-breaker match was freshman Stephanie Baumer 2-6, 6-1, (10-3).

The Westerwinds (10-7) finish conference competition next weekend, April 13 and 14, with competition against Oakland, IUPUI and Valparaiso in Oakland, Mich.
