Coach’s Outlook:

Jessica is our captain this year and will be expected to take on many more duties than she’s had in the past at Western. That won’t be a problem, because Jessica is as organized and conscientious as any student-athlete I’ve coached. She played some very good tennis for us this Fall and will have a chance to see a good deal of playing time in the Spring. For the first time since she’s been here, though, Jessica won’t be forced to play near the top of the lineup and that should result in a successful senior year for her.

2006-07 (Senior Season):
Named to The Summit League Winter-Spring Academic All-Conference Team.

2005-06 (Junior Season):

Was an ITA Scholar-Athlete (Academic All-American)... Compiled a 5-10 singles record with a 3-3 record at the No. 4 seed... Tallied a 4-10 doubles overall record... Named to the Mid-Con Academic All-Conference Team and Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence and Mid-Continent Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team.

2004-05 (Sophomore Season):

Named to the Mid-Con Academic All-Conference Team... Compiled a 4-12 singles record, competing at the No. 4,5, and 6 slots... Totaled a 7-10 doubles record with four other teammates.

2003-04 (Freshman Season):

Competed in seven matches her freshman season as Western’s No. 2 singles player... Tallied 14 matches in the No. 3 singles position... Paired with both Jennifer Lutzke and Diane Lutzke in the No. 1 duos slot to accumulate a 1-10 record... Notched a 2-6 record in the No. 2 doubles pair.

High School:

Qualified for the IHSA State Tournament for doubles her junior year... Finished with a 2-2 record at state.

Daughter of James and Karen Drake... Born January 3, 1985... Majoring in communication sciences and disorders.
