CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Western Illinois became the latest women's tennis team to fall prey to Northern Iowa as the Westerwinds dropped a 7-0 decision and the Panthers remained perfect on the season, improving to 30-0 in dual singles matches and 15-0 in dual doubles matches.
Western's Kim Lennartsson nearly handed UNI its first loss, but eventually fell 6-3, 7-6, 7-0 at No. 1 singles. Lennartsson partnered with Stephanie Baumer at No. 1 doubles, falling 8-5.
The Westerwinds will join the Leathernecks Saturday for matches against South Dakota State (12:30 p.m.) and Creighton (6 p.m.) in Omaha, Neb.
