She is already focusing on reporting to preseason in excellent shape so that she has as many advantages as possible to earn playing time.?Harrison, a 5-foot-11 middle hitter from Edwardsville, Ill., is a former teammate of current Western Illinois player Amy Sauerwein, as they both played for the Southwest Illinois Juniors Volleyball Club during their club careers. Harrison is the younger sister of Jenna Harrison, a sophomore middle blocker at Bradley University. ?Emily is a strong athlete who has great potential, and I expect her to improve tremendously in the early stages of her collegiate career due to her athleticism and strong focus and determination,? said McKay. ?She is dynamic and natural off of one foot when attacking, which is a similar style to Jenna Yurs. Emily will fit well into our offensive systems that allow players to incorporate their unique strengths.??As a coaching staff, we were most impressed with Emily?s competitive attitude. We know that she will be one of our fiercest and most competitive players,? McKay concluded.Harrison finalizes Western?s 2006 recruiting class that includes Chicago?s Elise Crnjak, Lincoln?s (Ill.)
