UMKC was 0-of-9 from three-point range in the second half.Postgame quotes from Western Illinois head coach Derek Thomas:"I'm very disappointed and upset. We had a couple of opportunities. We just had some turnovers at the wrong time which they capitalized on. When you go on the road and you do not take advantage of the opportunities you're given then you put the game in other people's hands.""NaVonta had a good effort. Unfortunately he had some fouls early. He was active on boards. We just have to finish some more of our shots and be aggressive and strong enough to do that.""Part of our plan was take away the three. We made changes at the half and did just that. They started driving on us and were able to make a few more plays than us.""We wanted to get the ball inside. We took enough threes to keep them honest but just didn't hit enough of them.""We had better exchange on the glass tonight, especially for being on the road. The bottom line was that we didn't finish enough shots and had too many turnovers."
