Adam Eaton shot a final round 66 in The Summit League Championships to lead Western Illinois in the overall scoring during the 54-hole event. The freshman was named Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Eaton’s 6-under matched the round he shot during the opening 18 holes of the team’s home Beu Mussatto Invitational last month, which tied for the ninth-lowest round in WIU program history. His 66 tied for the fourth-lowest tournament round in Summit League history, and was also the third-lowest round in course history on the Tournament tee boxes.

His rounds of 77-74-66 tied him for fourth individually and earned him a spot on The Summit League All-Tournament Team.

He finished his freshman year averaging 74.7 strokes per 18 holes (38 rounds), the 14th-best average in The Summit League.

Eaton carries a 3.94 GPA majoring in Biology.
