Michaela Cody was named the Hampton Inn Scholar Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.

Cody scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute to help lift the Leathernecks to a 3-2 victory over Summit League foe Oral Roberts. It was the sophomore's first career goal and Western's first league victory of the season.

The Sierra Vista, Arizona, native boasts a 4.0 GPA with an undeclared major.

The Purple and Gold will be back in action on Friday, October 16, for a road match against Omaha at 7 p.m., and will return home to play IUPUI the following Sunday at 1.
