Western Illinois senior men's golfer Nate Davis (Winchester, Ill./West Central) has been named Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week Monday (May 4) for his performance on the course this past weekend, and continued success in the classroom.
 
Davis concluded his WIU career with a final round 74 to lead the Fighting Leathernecks during day three of The Summit League championships on Sunday (May 3).
 
The senior captain jumped nine spots in the final standings, thanks to the lowest round turned in by Western during the three-round event. His 232 (+16) moved him into a tie for 14th overall.
 
This season Davis golfed in 34 total rounds with a 75.59 stroke average. His career average is 76.29 over 109 rounds.
 
In the classroom Davis owns a 3.181 grade point average and is a finance major.
