Senior swimmer Chris Neaveill (Germantown Hills, Ill./Peoria Notre Dame) was named the Papa John's 'Scholar Athlete of the Week' on Monday (Nov. 24).

The sophomore touched out in 49.27 in the 100 Fly at House of Champions, more than .4 seconds in front to win the event overall. The Wester Illinois record-holder in the 100 and 200 Fly, Neaveill later claimed third voerall in the 100 Back and second in the 200 Fly. 

In the 400 Free Relay, Neaveill anchored the Leathernecks A-Relay team and helped them to an eighth place finish. He was also the lead for Western's sixth place finish in the Medley Relay and the Leathernecks eighth place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. 

Neaveill maintains a 3.00 GPA and is currently undecided in his major.
