Western Illinois volleyball student-athlete Kaili Simmons has been selected as this week's WIU Hampton Inn Scholar Athlete of the week.

Simmons, a senior from El Dorado Springs, MO., compiled 38 digs on the week (4.75/set) including a 25-dig performance at South Dakota State. Also against SDSU, she recorded four service aces.

Simmons currently ranks second in The Summit League is total digs (546) and digs per set (5.06). 

The Leathernecks are back in action for Senior Weekend, beginning on Friday (Nov. 11) against IUPUI at 5 p.m. On Saturday (Nov. 12), both Simmons and Krishna Merriman will be honored prior to the 7 p.m. match against Omaha.
